Thanks Glenn, did you tip it forward/back to get the dolly underneath it ?

We will take it slow and steady and do our best.

I guess it will be advisable to take out all the live rock and put that into a heated tub whilst the move is going ahead. Did you remove the fish too?

I used two 5 gallon buckets & bought a big Rubermaid laundry tub - drained all but about 6 inches of water - didn't take out sand or all the LR, just most & most corals - the fish stayed in the tank.

We did just tip it backwards to get the dolly under it, the actual move happened in a few minutes - if I had known I could do it & it would go as well as it did, I would have upgraded to my 250 sooner :)

Thanks Steve, i will post pics as i go along and start a new thread :)

The LFS are getting a display tank up and running any time now. I will go check out if its best to go for the 400 or 500, i do kinda figure that the 500 will be too big, and also i am mindful that the bigger the tank the more stock it takes to fill it! I will decide when i see it in person at the LFS.

This time, i want to go for the biggest i can afford that is practical to care for and looks ok in the lounge.

Deffo going for white though.

Thanks, don't worry, i will post pics as i go along.

Now i have decided to opt for the upgrade to a bigger tank i am keen to get it up and running ASAP as i am dreading change over day.

The thought of taking delivery for a large tank (and making sure it turns up on the day nominated), co-ordinating the LFS to deliver such a large amount of water on the same day, moving the old tank all along with me and a friend getting the same day off work to setup is daunting. My time is limited so i need it all to be done in one day. It will be a tight schedule!

Hi Tammy

I am still not sure, it will be the 400 of 500. I marked out the size of the 500 last night and i do think that will be too big for my lounge, so it will probably be the 400. This also means that what i save going for the 400 v the 500 goes towards new live rock and stock.

The LFS is getting a 500 as a display tank so i will see what it looks like, but i think i will plump for the 400. I should have it in November hopefully.

The LFS have been great and agreed to deliver all the water on the day of delivery which will make life a lot easier on change over day. I will post lots of pics of the setting up etc. I am so looking forwards to getting it up and running. It is my early Christmas pressie to myself after a long hard year at work.

Just to update, i went to my LFS today and ordered the S 500 in white. The LFS were great and we measured the dimensions and footprint in the shop etc and the 500 will be perfect. I need to go in next week to pay for it :) Expected delivery is mid-end november.

There is no way the room will support the bigger 600 so that means no more upgrades to go bigger will be needed in the future, so i figured i might as well go for the 500 over the 400.

I will be having the live rock and live sand delivered from a specialist supplier in Wales ( Live Rock Uk -) who will deliver on the day the tank arrives. The LFS will also deliver all the water that i will need on the same day.

A friend will help set up with me on the delivery date so i am hoping that tank will be installed and up and running all in one day! Not looking forwards to it in the slightest as my house will be turned into SeaWorld / Titanic for the day.

I will of course pics of progress once it arrives! Be prepared for a million pics!
