Back at it with the RSM250

Hello Everyone,
First I would like to introduce myself since I'm new to this Forum.

I have currently been running fresh water tanks since I was about 9, took a few breaks in between but never really lost my passion for fish and just the underwater life. Currently i have dealt with small tanks ranging from 15 - 30 Gal.

After really thinking about it I decided to get a new tank and went with a salt water system, Figured it was time for a change and a new challenge!

I got myself a Red Sea Max 250 and so far I have no issues, even my protein skimmer seems to be working very well (I have read about people having issues with it). I'm currently at the stage where I have just added my life rock and just letting the water cycle for a few weeks. (also getting use to working with different levels, and getting an overall feel for the tank).

I will keep updating this post with pictures and my findings regarding my system. Any comments/help would be great!

I'm unable to post images yet because i need 5 posts, so I will post as soon as I'm at that stage.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sounds like you're doing things just right. You may want to add a "Deli Shrimp" *(uncooked, un-soaked in anything) to a filter bag and let this "Feed" your cycle. Keep testing and in a few weeks all your numbers should level out.

Keep posting your test results and let's "watch" your tank cycle :)

Sorry for the inconvenience, RS was down for an extended time yesterday - seldom happens - but did yesterday and the owner of RS (Travis) had to work like crazy to fix the server problem that came up.

Look forward to the pics :)

You can keep it private & still post pics on RS - like this? Did you not want to do that? If so, I can remove this one...

Beautiful !!!

Np with that ^^! I also didn't want to spam the post with 16 images right away!

Im finding the tank is evaporating really fast, is it ok for me to add water everyday, or should i try and make it every 3 - 5 days if possible?
Currently im just mixing my own water at home from the tap ( i know, I know that may change soon enough).
