I was wondering how you knew it was female so I went back and in the full tank shot it is obvious. ; )
That clam has so much growth on it, it looks like you just plucked it out of the ocean!

Well she's so pretty and I love her so naturally my maxima became a she :)
Yeah, heaps of growth on the sides and in shell size too! zoa's and some other misc. creatures on one side and some ridiculous coralline and algae on the other :) Looks so awesome and natural

My clam is being attacked by my clown , who's pushing her out of balanced, out of her rock. She detached once and never reattached or can't since the clowns arrived, to host the carpet nem. Its in their space i guess. My problem is that its the best and most lit area for both the nem and the clam. And i don't want to glue the clam artificially to the rock. And the clown moves stuff around the nem , she rearranges some rocks with zooz on it practically killing the zoos on it. Pushed my sponge away, a nasty neighbor.....even attack me when i work in the tank. A clarkii before you ask lol.

So nearly bought a clarki today Basile. Ended up going home with a mated pair of commons with great colours. Now if they would just host that carpet nem.

Oh thought I might just say my nem is at the end of the tank where light is at its weakest I suppose. Just a suggestion move the nem and then the clown will follow allowing you to stick the clam back where you originally intended it to go?

Clowns can be real jerks when they want to! Which is why I'll never have any in my tanks, no matter how good or calm they are. Sounds like you might need to find a new spot for clam unfortunately as I don't think they'll leave it alone until it's too late, clarkii's are some of the more badly behaved clowns so you'll just have to keep their little nem area clear and free of things so that they don't start destroying stuff like they are. Massive pain in the bum though!!

The nem is not little anymore , 1'+ diameter and moving that is not an option she's alredy at the righ end of the tank , i'll try theother way around the clam at the other end but the light is less in that area, thats where i have my NPS zone, remember, and the light is a little less intense there. This morning again my clam has been turn on its side again, darn!!!grrrrr i may have just found a solution......will be back on that TTYL.

Hey Basile,
If you remove the clam the clowns will possibly take up the new residence.
Put the clam in the sump for a few days. It won't hurt it.
Hope that helps!

I've redone some scaping if that possible in my tank, LOL . I had a brainstorming yesterday; i've put all my zoos rock on my backwall so my little shizoo clarkii wouldn't harass them anymore , so thats done and actually its clears the sand around the tonga sculpture and looks cleaner, and i took my clam and perched her higher at the other end on a ledge on her flat rock, which i just notice by turning my head she fell from LOL

Thats my view point by the way;

I built these tanks for me not for the guests LOL , for my own enjoyement and to be close too when i work or play on the pc or chat, lol.

Oh thanks Alan i didn't know what was going on for a moment there lol. Made a discovery today my seahorse can eat little shrimps, The Jumbo mysis shrimps , that i bought for my dim witted dwarf lionfish seen here for the first time in almost 4 months, without me feeding him , since he wont eat anything i gave him and only usually comes out middle of the night. i took this , this morning also .....

That thing has nine lives; he could be smelling the jumbo mysis shrimp too, since the pods population i'm sure he was feasting on has crash, because of my wrasse who's not killing my flatworms,

ahhhh what a life!!!! LOL

I love your setup Basile, makes me so jealous that your 'man cave' has some wicked tanks in there with some excellent inhabitants!! Good to hear you've finally spotted the lionfish after so long too! Hopefully he becomes a little more active and visible :yup: lol Fingers crossed you find a happy spot for the clam too :) Very stunning little creature!

Some new photo's will follow! :)

Top Down, Week 3 ZEO Update

Completed my weekly water change yesterday and while I hadn't turned on one of my Tunze's I thought I'd get a few shots of corals and what they're looking like after having zeo running for three weeks and let me say there's some decent improvements in there! I'll pop some of these photo's with side by side comparison shots in the ZEOvit User's Thread just to show what's been happening since starting zeo :)

I'll start off with my zoa's, ric's and non-sps corals as they just grow and live happily in the tank without much intervention:
My Royal Gramma features in both these shots with the ric's as his cave is right next to the ric garden :)

My favourite blue zoa's have exploded since starting zeo and the true Darth Mauls are growing really well too :)

The rest of the zoa's, my other favourites and the greeny coloured ones as they have some awesome patterning, not sure if you can see it in the photo's though. I love red people eaters too, simple zoa's but so nice :)

My lovely lobo, nearly always puffy and happy since starting zeo and colours are going strong:

And now for the main show lol the reason I started zeo and it has been a worthy investment too!
This guy has only been in the tank for a couple of weeks and is starting to show some real potential, it's also growing really well too like most of the acro's in the tank :)

This acro is really starting to show colours now, slowly moving off the brown-teal that it's been for months and now showing it's greens, the shaded polyps are a florescent green too, it's pretty amazing!

Starting to lose the brown too and colour up:

This milli is much happier since removing the dead portions and starting zeo, colours haven't changed much but the underlying green is coming out nicely:

Some nice green zoa's that came along with the LR and a 'tri-colour' acro that is slowly turning purple lol it didn't ship well so it's been a long slow process getting it's true colours back but it's getting there!

This shot is darker as the coral is under the lights and I needed to shade it to get a pic without light reflections lol but this guy is really nice and is starting to really grow after not doing much since getting it :)

This pink-red tabling acro is one of my favourites and grows really well and has some awesome colour that is getting even better :)

This acro would have to have one of the best colour combinations and colours in the tank and of sps that I've seen, definitely one of the superstars of the tank haha Growing really well too:

This acro would have to (at the moment) have the best colours in the tank, the emerald green is amazing and it's growing so fast too, the colours get better almost daily it's seriously amazing. One of my favourites!

Not a great shot but this acro is really pinking up! Supposedly is meant to have blue tips but we'll see if they develop, I'm happy with the colours as is though :)

Rainbow monti that only has green polyps at the moment haha but it's growing slowly so it'll rainbow up eventually, hopefully lol:

Another one of my favourites (I'll be honest they pretty much all are :p lol):

Some misc frag rack shots :) And the big pale acro is a new milli that has some real potential, I just need to wait and I'm a patient guy so it's going to be a stunner!

You can really see the emerald of the fuzzy acro in the side of this shot:

And finally what would a photo update be without a shot of the absolute love of my tank be!! I absolutely adore my maxima and having a clam in the tank is something that just makes me so happy and enthusiastic about the tank too!

Awesome update Dom. Bet you now see a metallic green hue in those edges on the acros too. I would say its almost like having a pearlescent paint job.
Really pleased everything is going well for you in the zeo front. :)
