new and i need help

hey guys im about to buy a used 29g biocube and i want to upgrade what it has to mimic the HQi model. Is getting the hood possible? Im getting a really good deal on the unit and i want to upgrade asap. I know i can replace the wet/dry with the protien skimmer, any suggestions. Thanks

It has "Back Chambers" like many of the All-In-One systems do. Instead of bio-balls you can buy and add a high quality Protein Skimmer in one chamber.

Couldn't find a HQI hood for sale on line. Have you thought about going LED instead of HQI? That's where you'll find Nanotuners helpful. This is very close to the HQI light used on the BC-29 HQI, if not the same one. Good luck!

If you want to ditch the hood and go with a clamp on HQI, I have a great 150w that you could buy for a decent price. Used less than a year.

thanks knapp, i def want to get rid of the hood, i want to get the tank going and settled first as of right now im cleaning the tank from top to bottom. The woman that sold it to me gave me the live sand that was already there so its a head start
