My place is a mess. Tunze, old skimmer, screws, towels, hoses everywhere..
Update:
Today I added a pair of Firefish/fire gobies. Normally they don't pair up from what I understand and are better off alone but these were the only 2 in the tank and the Petco manager said they have been there for a long time. They looked real healthy, and they're really smart. Who woulda thought? One burrowed in the sand and pretended to be dead while the manager tried to net him out.
I also have received some free polyps and coral today as a start off and I may need some help IDing it. I really don't know what i'm looking at or how to take care of it. In fact, I'm a little worried i'm going to introduce something harmful or some kind of parasite or something to my tank. Or a coral I may not want later and cannot remove. One, is an elegance coral. I understand they are aggressive so still on the boat about that. The other is a xenia and there is one I cannot identify. Looks kind of purple or red and looks like blisters or warts. lol I will post pics and hopefully someone can tell me what they are.
Also, there is a tiny brittle star as well. These are good, not bad right? I hate the way they look and it reminds me of spiders so Im not sure about this one either. Any opinions?
Let me know if there's any advice tips and feedback so far.
EDIT:
Took some quick shots.
Tank with only rock, 1 fire shrimp, 3 nassarius snails and 3 red hermits.
The free bunch I got. I need help IDing from anyone that can be of assistance please. You can see the legs of a brittle star on the if you look to the bottom right corner. It is attached to the elegance coral.
Not sure what this is. It may be a piece of the one on the top right corner. They seem fragmented. I am not sure if they are one coral or 3 different ones.
This one I know. A xenia and apparently goes like weed.
I have no clue what this coral is. It may be the same one as the smaller pieces posted above.
Elegance coral. Shriveled up though..
I have no clue if it's dead.... or ...
I may be mistaken, ID on the star? Brittle or serpent? I cant stand to look at this something about it reminds me spiders and I hate spiders.
I don't know much about corals and though I have only started reading, these were handed to me free without me expecting it so it kind of puts some pressure on me to learn and read up before introducing them. The MAIN concern of mine is i do not want anything with toxins or venom or anything harmful in my tank. Including zoas.. at least for the time being. Any help is greatly appreciated!
