i tried to take some firefly pictures last night with a bulb exposure....not one came out.
i will try again with a higher iso setting to see if i can get the little flashes to register before the rest of the picture saturates with light.....

very tricky...

Please explain the procedure...I was thinking last night how much I would like to take some pics of all the fire flies in the yard...

my procedure was a failure.
i was at ISO 100. i left the shutter open, camera on a tripod pointed at the grass. i tried like 5 sec, 8 sec, 15 sec exposures.

i eventually got enough light in to make it look like daytime in my picture, but couldn't see the fireflies...very faintly in one shot.

they were everywhere last night....tonight i will try increasing the ISO to 400, 800, 1600...and see if i can capture enough of them on a shorter exposure...1-2-4- sseconds.

OK, please post a pic if you have any success, I'd like to give it a shot too, kida drizzly tonight so I won't be able to try tonight, but maybe tomorrow, or the weekend.
