Im sure it wasnt too much light. I think your acclimation process was OK too but I would just leave it on the bottom and work it up slowly over the next month or so. Do you know what conditions (ie light, salinity, PH, ALK) it came from? That might lead to a clue as to why it would bleach. HTH

Cheeks- well I calibrated my aquacontroller PH probe and it was reading 1.5 higher than the actual PH of the tank. I think that was the problem, guess I need to verify the probes more often. Thanks ..

could be caused by a number of things Ralph. How long has the bed been active? What sand dwelling critters do you have? What are you feeding? What are you using for top-off water? We can prob help with a little more info.

Tony, as long as the trites and ammonia are down I would say you are safe. Remember to acclimate your snails/hermits/stars etc just like you would a fish. Comin along nicely...
