If I put live rock rubble or bio-balls in between the fuge part and the return prtion of my sump/fuge will the bio-balls blcok the coepods or amphipods from getting up to my display?
The bio-balls will be compltetly submerged so no worries on gas exchange !
Thanks

Bio-balls prob would not block pods but if submerged would prob contribute to Nitrates in the long run. LR rubble would be a better option.

Ok thanks. I thought the bio-balls NOT being submerged would contribute to the high nitrates, becuase of the wet dry effect!

Thanks again

bio balls will not stop anything from going any where
but i would use the live rock rubble over the bio balls LR is much more benificial to the water quality
