Water changes and snails/starfish hanging out near surface

Question: Whenever I am set to do a water change, my sea star, and sometimes snails are at the surface. Is disturbing them and moving them down traumatic? Or is it totally fine to move them as needed?

+1.. I have to move my star alot to clean the glass. I just whack the snails with the magnet. They like it.. .. I agree tho.. better than being out of water..

Lol I only have one or two snails that stay in the water mine like to bask in the lights lol

I try to take out the water slowly and my star comes down by itself. I tried to move it once but it was stuck to the glass really good

I don't move them, as the water level drops, they'll move down if they need to. Not much different than the tide going out in the wild.

Ya but my snails still like the good ol magnet smack.
