Original RSM 130.
Stock skimmer not doin anything!
Bubbles are being made and are just not reaching into the cup.
Valve all the way open and still no dice.
Heard the way to go on replacement was with a Tunze 9001.
Has anyone installed this without a media rack?
Or is a media rack required?
Looking for some installation tips.
Thanks!

I went the way of a media rack, i ran the sponge on the top, a bag of rowaphos in the middle and a bag of carbon on the bottom, with the media rack you have somewhere to mount the skimmer that lets you adjust it up and down to the correct level, you will not believe how much noise is reduced by replacing the stock skimmer!! I would do it... it's a good upgrade

So the media rack is necessary to install the Tunze?

Which rack did you use, the InTank?
Thanks!

No it will go in but I would personally get the media rack at the same time and mount it to the side of the rack, then you can adjust it to the height that skimms best, yes it was the in tanks one
