Time for a skimmer?

For a 120 gallon reef a $500 skimmer is not that expensive.

Yeah man, There is another reason why I build all my own stuff

The super skimmer works great. I'm using the coralife 65 and have never had a problem with it. Its quiet enough to sleep next to, and pulls out alot of dark junk. I know the 220's are much better than the 65 and all the super skimmers are really tall, so may want to take measurements. It can go in sump or hang on mode.

I was looking at the octopus HOB's last night but theyre quite a bit more than the CSS 220. What size tank do u run your 65 on?

Well after days of what seems like days of research I've decided to go with the deltec MCE 600 . Didn't really want to spend that originally but it seems to b from all accounts the best HOB skimmer available and hence the best insurance . How's the saying go , an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?

I think you'll be very happy with the Deltec, once the price shock wears off.
