Small aiptasia or anemone or feather duster?

DSCF4086.JPG

This is from a piece of liverock which has been in the tank for 3months.

when fully open, it's approx 5mm across and raised approx 3mm from the liverock.

When disturbed, it sucks itself back into the liverock in a fraction of a second.

I have zero knowledge on these things so please excuse my complete ignorance.

No, I didn't either Glenn based on the images I had seen, that said...this is TINY and so could (for all my lack of knowledge knew) look very different to what it would go into?!

Perfect, thanks guys...there's an even smaller one on the side of a branching hammerhead frag (about 1.5mm wide head), I'll try to get a pic of that next as it's slightly different.

Thanks again

feather duster - I have lots of tiny ones that never get bigger - different colors and patterns.

definitely a feather duster,i have orange ones and red ones and white ones in my tank very nice to look at

Yeah, I like them, the way they suck in when a fish swims over them and then gradually expand out again. They're really growing, probably doubled in the last few weeks and as I said before there's a tiny one on my branching hammerhead.

Thanks for the comments on the pic
