RSM 250 and stunner strips

I bought 2 24" stunner strips to add some blue shimmer to my tank, and just found out they wont quite fit behind the T5 bulbs. Now thinking I'll swap out t5's to LED, how many stunner strips would be equivelant to the 6 t5's or better than? I only have a few zoa's and mushrooms right now, but will have full reef of mixed corals before to long.

Return those strips for three 12 inch true lumen strips. Fits peefect behind bulbs against the reflector plate

I added two 24" True Lumen Pro strips that work well.

Do those mount with double side tape? I had my old strips mounted that way and they shorted out in less than a month. Not sure if Pro means water proof. I have been told LEDs and H20 dont mix. Those would mount just as well under the safety of the plastic lid :)

there is a metal bracket at each end of the strip and they are screwed into the top (they pivot on the bracket so they can be angled if needed). I don't think they are waterproof (submersible) but they are water resistant. They get condensation on them at night and have no problems. Had them for 8 months with no issues. Not sure how i could have mounted them under the plastic lid and still have them aimed down at the tank as you can't spin them 180 degrees. They don't fit behind the T5's.

Do you see any DIfference in coral growth? do you have the shimmer effect now? and hows it look at night with the deep blue

Like to see how that went and hopefully some pics. Maybe ballpark cost and time to install would be much appreciated. I might have to do it myself!

I have four stunner strips on my RSM 250. I mounted them on the outside of the t5 fixture. Works great. Two of mine are the rgb pro models in which I can change the colors. The kids love the light show....the fish probably not so much.

I didn't notice any additional growth with them. I added them for a dawn/dusk effect and to add color/pop to my corals. I don't get any shimmer as they are blue led strips. You need white leds to get shimmer. And it looks great at night! They fill the tank with blue and everything glows. They aren't the strongest led strips made but still put out a good amount of light.
