I really like the idea of seahorses in a 90. Usually, they are in nanos, which are harder to keep stable. I can't wait to see the pics.

Once you get the CUC, your answer on how to keep the tank cycled is easy. Feed the CUC. You should be able to maintain the cycle even without by feeding the tank twice a week.

Or, you could just continue with the grocery store shrimp. It should maintain the cycle nicely.

You know, my LFS had an Oceanic 90 with just exactly the setup you described. With the lighting fixture, an MH/actinic/some sort of t5, it was selling for about $1500. I haven't dragged Mike there yet, but he'll see it!!!

Congrats Lyunn. Can't wait to see this finally come to life.

And yes, I live near Billy. About 1/2 hour away or so.

As for keeping the tank cycled until the pnies arrive, just add a litle frozen or flake food a couple times a week and you'll be fine. About a month or so before you add the ponies, feed the tank just as you would if the ponies where in there and let the cuc take care of the food. This well help to bring you bio filter up to par to handle the substantial increase in bio-load that the ponies will create.

Eggcrate is one if the mostful things ever created, :)
Just for starters all of my tanks have eggcrate for covering It helps prevent jumpers while allowing air exchange and lower temp due to evaporation. In this tank it will be both a covering an be placed on the bottom so the rock does not directly be on the glass. It is also great for shelves for frags and a number of other uses.

I don't know hardly anything about ponies, how much waste do they produce? Compared to a fish... What kind/size of fish...

I've learned from reading this forum that they need very cool water and I'm assuming pristine water.

Re: Lynn's pony adventure

Thank's for the compliment but which part? If it is the racecar line I read that in someones sig on another forum and just plain loved it as well. Other that that just lots of tank threads. :) No way I could put the specs for all of the tanks in my sig. Nobody would read it. :)
