Al, it took you 13 months just to get water into a tank!!!

It will be six years this March
Started with the standard 55 gal.
upgraded to a 120 long and added a 110 sps only and 45 clam tank
upgraded 120 to a 210 and took down 110 after crash
downgraded 210 to current 140 cube to cut cost and took down 45 clam tank
recently added a 60 cube
currently planning a 420, hopefully the last tank

Christmas 2005...I started with "Nemo, Marlin and Dori" and thousands of $ later...I don't even want to think about it.

But I do enjoy it.

There are some young and old reefers...

I did not realize that i am actually in a majority in this poll...1 to 5 years.

So does that mean that this hobby...sport is fairly young? And that we will help in some way with the coral reefs of the world?

I will say this, before I started this hobby, I had no clue as to how diverse the reefs of the world were.

And when I heard, read or saw anything about the coral reefs of the world i though "That's too bad, but I have better things to do." But now I actually think. "This is worth preserving."

Does anyone else feel that way?

I'm 150% with you on all aspects of that. I've always had a kid-like fascination with anything aquatic but never really took a long hard look at how or WHY others felt it so important.
