Hi everyone. My name is Aaron and I'm addicting to keeping fish. LOL Perhaps not but I am super excited about starting my first reef tank. I have kept freshwater, freshwater planted, and FOWLR tanks before.
I'm currently cycling a 24 gal Nano Cube that has 20 pounds of dry base rock, 10 pounds of LR, and 20 pounds of LS. The owner of the LFS said he would expect the tank to cycle in more than a week (what he normally sees using all LR) but perhaps in as little as two weeks.
Right now I have two hermit crabs who hitchhiked in on my LR. So far those two and some feather dusters is all I've seen in the tank that's alive but who knows what could show up over the next couple of days.
To quote my wife, as she walks by and I'm staring at a tank full of rocks and water - "Oh jeez, what are you going to be like when there's actually fish in there?" LOL
