Don't Order From Them!

Reef Scavengers is by far the WORST company I have ever bought from in my life!!!! First of all I ordered my stuff last week Wednesday and just got it today and from what I can tell it’s 99% of it is DEAD and the snails and hermit crabs are soo small (like the size of peas) I can’t tell what they are!! The snails didn’t come in any water and not even damp just in a dry bag… There was no insulation in the box at all and I live in WISCONSIN (come on people), the bags that the animals came in were leaking so bad that the box is soaking wet, and the water is full of junk and is yellow in color. The web site has no phone number and they didn’t include a packaging slip at all and the package seems to have come by standard mail not 2 day shipping like they tell you. There is no indication on the box that it was sent priority. I will be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau for their inhuman practices, what they did to these live animals is inexcusable! Here’s the order and pictures of it…

- 30 Nassarius Snails – Mostly dead and there is not even 30 there!

That's terrible especially since 99% of you order are very hardy creatures.

Sounds like the post office might have held the package a few days due to the leak, they have to call someone in to come inspect the package and make sure there is noting harmful leaking out. I had it happen once and it killed my order as well but it was not due to the seller poor packaging but the handlers banging the box up. I still think one of my enemies was working and seen my package all it needed was tire tracks. :)

Eric, I thought of that but they sent me an email saying the package was "shipped" (which i don't believe) on the 15th... the water is sooo sick there is no way they shipped it on that date!

That is absolutely ridiculous. What is up with the water in the bags even...brown?!?

And to think I've been getting an order together with them, and I suggested them to you..... Gee.....sorry!!

And they don't give you a refund, only store credit...that's shady right there. I'm soooo mad for you!!!!!!!! :bluemad: And no phone number!? Oi to the Vey.

yea that's gotta be them the address on my package says West Melbourne... SARA is that by u... Go there and complain!

I would at additionally contact them through their email, and request a refund. Most likely they will refuse. I'd then go to my credit card company, and dispute the transaction.

I can understand that mistakes will occur. However, when it's a total loss, they should replace the shipment and reship it at their expense. It's winter time, so everything going north should be shipped overnight, with heat packs.

I agree Dave... there was no heat packs at all in the box... Im doing a final count of everything that's dead (requested by the company)... Its very sad!

Wow, sorry to hear that! Maybe they changed owners or something since I ordered from them 2 years ago, cause they weren't that bad then. Hope you get things straighten out! Oh and about contacting BBB, they don't do anything. I reported zoafrags to them and nothing happened. Zoafrags was "on vacation" for the whole complaint period and suddenly got back right after the complaint expired! Go figure. There should be a better way to punish bad businesses.

They have already been reported 2 times... BBB graded them C- for one occurrence and and F for another. Its bad business practices... I've been dealing with this all day and had to dispute the charge on my card.
