A new camera!

Most of my posts I plan to promote active discussions or have a momentous value, but this time I just had to talk about it. My new DSLR! I didn't have an extreme budget nor am I a photographer, but I wanted something to shoot pictures of well ... mostly fish! I went with a Canon EOS Rebel XT. It is an 8 megapixel, ISO 400-1600, 35 EMZ, and 3 fps.

More specs: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT Specs (with 18mm-to-55mm lens, Silver) - Digital cameras - CNET Reviews

Anyways, enough talk, more pics! Here are some test shots.

My friend's log finned tetra, Denzel.

And something my friend and I put together, for the ladies! Haha, a fake cologne ad featuring me!

I know the pictures may not be the best, but I hope to improve my photography skills and use this camera for my forum posting! :)

Thanks everyone!

I think the photos are great! Congrats on the new camera. I may have to steal that cologne ad idea, super funny.

A DSLR may not make you any better of a photog (it can though) but it sure doesnt make you any worse.

A good macro lens with the DSLR definitely makes it easier to get good shots of fish since you can zoom in unlike with normal point 'n' click cameras... so congrats on the camera and keep the pics coming! btw, love the Sponge Bob in the FW tank :)

I just got a canon T3i after Xmas. The new gen cameras can take pretty decent high ISO pics. I'm usually shooting @ 1600iso and getting very acceptable pics.
Can't wait to get a 100mm f/2.8 macro lens.
