Congratulations Jeff! The best way to get over a lost pet is by getting another one. I don't know if I believe that, but I heard it on Animal Planet! I'm so happy for you!
I got my egg crate at Home depot jut where Brenda said it was.
Now I have 6 weeks to make the new cover for the DT.
I used Jeremy's shopping list.
Home depot only had white screen framing kit in stock so I bought a couple of
7' long brown framing material, the corner pieces and the spline separately.
At my home depot the eggcrate was actually back next to the drop ceiling tiles. Im happy I could help you make sure he doesnt hit the deck aswell! He looks very tiny.

This is going to be another small thread jack but I noticed all PetSmarts are the EXACT same inside, it was almost spooky how similar they were on the inside.
and heres a question for hold, how stable are the parameters in your QT tank? I have been having to do 30-40% water changes on my 20 gallon with the baby purple tang in it every 2 days, I just cant seem to keep any of the levels within a good range...its getting annoying.
At this point my QT is well established. It has been set up since late MAy and I cycled it. The first fish went into QT in Mid July. Early on I was doing ~30% WC very other day. Now I just do one 30-40% WC every week. Honestly I dont even test anymore.
A QT is a great teacher of patience.
Check out the QT link in my sig. The one without a fish in it.
Durante III has been in QT now for 4 weeks.
I got motivated today and made the new screen for the DT as Jeremy posted about after D2 leaped. It looks pretty good and and the light difference in the DT is really noticeable now that the egg crate has been replaced. I havent taken any photos of it yet but I will soon.
Here is the screen top that I built for the 55g DT.
In the first pic I am using a Magnet to hold it against the side of the tank to get a better photog of it.
I used 4 layers of bird netting.
Those guys look terrific. I love the way your tank room is set up with the flags and decorations. I would like to see a wider pic to take all that in if you have the time Jeff.
That room used to be called the dining room.
Now it is the Reef Room. The dining table used to be in the middle of the room. Now it is in a corner and two comfy chairs and a end table are in front of the tank. Can you say Ikea? I'll see if I can find a photo.
Here is another.
There is a beautiful built in hutch just to the left of the bedroom door and CD tower
That book above the tank is "Little Nemo in Slumberland" by Windsor McCay
It was a Sunday newspaper full page comic strip from about 1905-1912.
Kind of a Calvin and Hobbes of its day with more imagination - if you can believe that.
The little boy is Little Nemo and most of the story takes place in his dreams.
