I'm curious to hear about your experiences with different coral and fish species in your saltwater reef tanks. Could you please share your favorite species that you've successfully kept? What makes them stand out for you?

Welcome to Reef Sanctuary. I could go on for pages about fish, coral or other livestock I have kept over the years. I'd have to say my favorite fish is a spotted hawk. They have a great personality and always seem to take an interest in what is going around inside and outside the tank. They love to perch on corals and often blend right into the background. Hawks are also a group of fish that have a tasseled dorsal fin.

As for corals, I tend to like the soft corals, since they are very easy to keep and propagate. You can get on modest frag and quickly get enough frags to have quite a few in the tank.

In terms of "fish" my favorite is similar to @DaveK except it's a longnose hawkfish.
