why do you need upgrade's on a new rds 130d

Just bought a new redsea max 130d six weeks ago, looking on forums must people upgrade this system, i would like to know why when this is a plug and play.

You absolutely can run your RSM 130D stock - have great success & a beautiful reef tank I did for over 2 years - see my tank thread & pics - in fact I loved it so much I bought a RSM 250 so I could have more fish & corals.

Having said that and to answer your question as to why... imo - because it's a hobby & things like adding a Vortech for addition flow or a sump for addition water or a nicer skimmer only make ones tank better & because what $$$ one spends on a hobby they enjoy is relative... have you sen the new RSM S series :dance: lovely tanks like the RSM 175 gallon 650
