whats the waiting time??

2 weeks ago, I had almost a total wipeout of my aquarium by way of the dreaded Ich, lost 2 clowns,powder brown tang,hippo tang,5 blue chromis, 2 bangai cardinals. whats left is my Mystery wrasse and Yasha goby w his pistol shrimp. How long should I wait until I can add more fish?

take the remaining fish out to a hospital tank. treat them for ich and leave your main livetock free for 6-8 weeks.

First, you need to treat the remaining fish in a quarantine tank. Your tank is still infested with the disease.

The treatment should be done for at least 8 weeks, with 10 being much better. During this time the main tank, with no fish in it, will become free of the disease, because there is no host for the parasite.

Most likely this isn't exactly what you wanted to hear, but it's the only way to rid yourself of the disease. Remember that you never ever medicate a reef system to treat a fish disease. You must remove the fish and treat in a quarantine tank.

Like others have said, the system must be fallow to kill the ich. I'd go with 10 weeks, but that's because I'm paranoid and wouldn't want another outbreak...
