Starfish spawning

Woke up this morning and found my starfish spawning. Hundreds of little orange eggs, guess I know she's a girl

I had no idea how sea stars spawn....How long has it been in your tank?

Most of the eggs are gone. From what I've read, the female releases the egg and males release sperm in a coordinated event. I've just have the one Common Comet Starfish so without a male not much is going to happen. Regardless, I take it as a good sign that she was happy and health enough to spawn. I don't actively feed her on a regular bases but she will take an occasional silverling if my anemones are not interested in it.
