difficult to tell from the photo. I'd leave it be, let it open up and then take another photo. I'd always start at bottom and move up in the tank if needed later.

Looks like it could be a carnation. If so be sure you feed it a it is not photosynthetic.

I feed my tank phyto every 2-3 days is that sufficient?

its recommended to be fed once a day for best results. but ya it looks like a carnation tree coral
