Thanks for posting this, I thoroughly agree. I have always admired one of the Lfs tanks I visit. When I asked the parameters etc, I was told he simply didn't know as he never bothered testing it. He would just proclaim that his corals would tell him alk was off a bit, algae would be a indicator that po4 was one the up. Amazing intuition really and one I'm yet to master lol
