SeaHorse tank

Any reason I shouldn't have my Seahorse tank run thru the same sump and fuge as my reef tank? Assuming that the sump/fuge and skimmer are adequate for the total water volume.

Thank you.

Depends on what your Reef Tank temps are and can you maintain them low enough for a horsie tank.

I see i have a lot to learn on seahorses... The 2nd tank started as a starfish tank (for my wife) but what fun is a starfish only tank. So i was thinking seahorses! what temp do you keep the water at for horses!

72-74 degrees for seahorses. Many folks have tried to run them on the same system as their reef tanks and it doesn't work. Seahorses need an independent system.

Well thanks everyone...I have decided to pass on seahorses for now....I'm thinking maybe starfish and anemone tank. Not sure if this combo will work...moving to that forum now :) this way i can run the same system.
