I wont lie its not doing great. Having a wedding this year and everything else going on in my life the tank has been neglected. Im slowly getting it back to normal but finding the money before / during / after a wedding isn't easy, and going on honeymoon in December has also killed the old bank balance! I'll have a proper chance of getting back into the tank 100% in the new year. Planning on bringing some cheap tank items back from HK!

LED question here

I want to replace the T5's with LED, reasons are T5 bulbs are ridiculously expensive here. other issues is 35w x 6 bulbs and also the extra heat means my chiller runs more often.
electricity prices in S.A are going up all the time so I need to start combating this ASAP.

my options due to price are as follows

VERTEX ILLUMILUX MARINO BLANCO 900

or

BeamsWork LED 2600 - 90cm (1W x 42pcs)

Im heading towards the Vertex so far.

any thoughts?

I am capable of doing DIY just getting anything in S.A is near on impossible.

Good reasons for switching to LEDs. There's some good LED units in Hong Kong and if you're handy with diy the change is relatively easy. My temps are consistent now and the lack of heat from the lights really noticible when I hold my hand against the fan grill that vents the light heat.
