RSM 130D Seahorse Tank

It's been a while since I've posted, but my RSM 130D has been up since April as a seahorse tank. Here's a video of what it looks like now. I am using only one of the two lights and one of the two circulation pumps with a DIY spray bar. I also have a Koralia 1. Together they create a clockwise circular current. I also have a LifeReef overflow taking the water down to a sump with a biopellet reactor and a CPR Aeroforce skimmer. I also use 1 unit of ChemiPure Elite every 6 weeks or so. The tank has several types of macro algae (Chaeto, Red Grape, Red Gracilaria, and Halimeda) and a few soft corals (Xenia, Mushroom, and Toadstool). I went through a few months of bad cyano and suffered a partial crash in July, but the tank has bounced back nicely. Currently the tank has no nuisance algae and NO3&PO4 are 0,0). I dose alkalinity twice a week, and calcium, iodine, and iron once per week. I don't do balanced alkalinity and calcium because I have found that with biopellets my consumption of calcium/alkalinity is not balanced (i.e., having the biopellet reactor seems to consume some alkalinity).

Raymo, that tank is awesome. I'd love to have a seahorse tank, and I'm big fan of macroalgae. I don't think that's gracillaria, but looks more like flame algae or dragon's tongue algae (halimenia). It does have different shades depending on light it gets. Sometimes it can look orange or gold. I have red gracillaria in my nano if you want to have a look. http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/nano-reefs/78496-whippetguys-16g-nano-tank.html. Again, that's an amazing tank. Well done!

I'm also impressed that you could even catch your firefish to move him. I think that I'd have to take out mine's rock to get him.

Thanks for the kudos! I don't think it's gracilaria either. I mention that fact in one of my older videos as well. It does not look like any of the common Halimenia's I have seen online, but I also know it does not look like the common gracilaria we use to feed tangs, etc. BTW, I had to swap out my entire tank, so all of the rock and sand came out. This made it easy to catch the dart fish :)
