Red Sea Max 130D help

Hi everyone

Im new to the salt water community. I recently got a red sea max 130D. Everything is set up and running.
I have question regarding then media basket. Currently:
Top level : floss sponge and square black Sponge.
Middle level: a bag of chemi pure
Bottom level: empty

Should I run?
Top level : floss sponge and square black Sponge.
Middle level:a bag of purigen
Bottom level: a bag of chemi pure

If you have enough live rock in the system, you really only need mechanical filtration and skimming. Unless you have some specific issue, you really don't need chemi pure or purigen. These products tend to be fairly expensive, so look into bulk products if you do need something in the chemical filtration area.

It's not that these products are bad, and using them certainly will not hurt anything, it's that you only need them for specific issues.
