I have this red stuff making a covering on a few rocks. Also I have had these red bubble looking things also. 
Red algae or red bubble?

the bubbles are red bubble algae - siphon it out... easy to do

if the dark red if fuzzy, most likely is red turf algae - get some Mexican turbos for it
