Placing Cheato In Bulkhead

Hey All,

This might be a dumb questions but can I add Cheato to my bulkheads? I have a good amount of lighting going in them and think I can benefit from having Cheato there. Or should I place it in the sump and if so, does Cheato need to be completely submerged. Let me know

Thanks

In bulkhead? Wont it reduce/restrict flow in there?

It does need to be submerged and even better it needs to be "Tumbling".

it will clogg up your bulkhead. put it in ure sump with an air stone under it to keep it tumbling.

Steve.... Do you mean in your overflow box....? If yes....I think it is a great question....

My tank is drilled and the overflow area....essentially a bowed piece of plastic that has to be 5-10 gals in volume.... is a place that I have often thought about putting chaeto or other Macro in. There is a lot of flow of water, my T-5 light beams down it.... seems like a great place to let it grow... Of course I will defer to the experts on the board... but I would guess it could work as long as flow to the overflow pipe is not blocked or the gates into the overflow are not blocked....

I would love to get folks thoughts on this....
