Noob to closed loop

Hey guys, the forum is gonna whip me with a strand of caulerpa if i dont post and I am still confused about how closed loops work? Can anyone post pics of theirs. i dont plan on running one for my tank but just want to know for the future.....thanks guys

It's used on larger systems. It is a loop from the tank to the same tank, with a pump in ti. It dose nothing for filtration but is there for flow.

Cool setup, in that pic. Looks like a really good stand too. Have to remember that for when I [ wishing ] build my monster tank. Were'd you find that pic?

Well I just thought I would show you my set up... Pretty much like my mind.. Quite cluttered.. I have tried to identify each of the pipes for greater clarity. Perhaps it's more of a how not to... LoL
