new to this, Just setting up, hope its not aiptasia!

Hey people!!

I'm just letting my new reef tank settle in with some LR, got a bit of a problem with nitrates at the moment, so i'm beating it to death with RO water. The LR has been in there for about 3 weeks, and things are starting to grow! I had a couple of reasonable size aiptasia, (about 15mm) which i promptly killed with aiptasia x (worked a treat by the way) but a field of little things have popped up, maybe 50-100 of them, which dont look quite like I expected! Any help would be great!

Cheers

Welcome to RS!

Xenia and or GSP are both spreading "weeds". They are pretty till they take over half your tank, you need to think about just how bad you want them. Once they get a foot hold it's VERY hard to ever get them completely out. Good luck!

Welcome to Reef Sanctuary!

+1^. You can keep some on a small rock away from your main rockscape if you want.

Ah, I've found a few pictures, and you're right! Baby xenia it is! I'm hoping this means my water is pretty good. Is it likely to cause problems? If I prune it back periodically, it wont cause any problems will it?

Thanks for all the help by the way, I'll put photos on with photobucket in the future. I'm assuming people could see the flickr ones though???
