new tank

working in setting up a new tank at my new house. I am making a 40g breeder for now. I am planning on making it a frag tank until I can find a 6' DT. I am planing on using a reefbreeders photon light, HOB filter and a refugium. I will put some rock and some micro algae in the refugium.

do i need to let the tank cycle ?
any other advice would be appreciated

What are you going to kep in the tank? If it's just frags, they you should be ok. If your going to add some fish, I'd add a hang on the back skimmer.

Yes, the tank still needs to be cycled. Frags are much more delicate than fish.

cycling is very important if you want to help the process you can use nutria sea sea water it does cost more than mixing your own saltwater mix though our biocube cycled in less than 2 weeks using this method and we have been using nutria sea ever since for our 29 biocube but on our DSA110 we use coral pro salt mix and ro/di water

I would say just make sure you get the air out of the pvc pipe as you fill the tank or your rack may want to float on you other than that looks good
