I have been doing some reading on the site and now im just a little bit confused. I have been reading that Bio balls are bad and not to use them. My 29g Bio Cube that I got up and running today came with alot of Bio balls. Should I go ahead and take them out now or what? I know 3 people who have had their SW tanks up and running for 3+ years using Bio balls with zero problems. Just trying to get everything right this time around. Thanks.

In a reef tank with plenty of Live Rock (1 to 1 & 1/2 pounds per gallon - depending on how porous your LR is) you really don't need them though... your LR serves that function...

Thanks. I bought 21.5 pounds of live rock and 20 pounds of live sand yesterday so looks like I am starting off right this time.. Salt is at 1.021 water temp at 77.3. Let the process begin!

I may put a few corals in there so I will add more salt later today. Also I noticed when I was at Petsmart yesterday API also makes a Master Reef test kit I believe. Should I buy that as well?
