My new project

So this is my new project.
A 170gal tank.
I have a AP series Deltec skimmer, 1 rw8 from Jebao and a return pump Dc3000 from Jebso also.
For lighting i hate a ATI dimmable set.

I had some issues on controling the flow, because the DC3000 pumped up more water than the Deltec skimmer was able to put in the Sump. So, to get things flowing I just attached a mottorhead to a hose, into the sump.
Now the fliw is right..

I gave some pictures in here but i promuse to give ou more detailed info and pics from my tank.

Hope you enjoy

Hope to hear from you guys.
All help is welcome.

Best regards.

nice. what do you plan to do with the tank as far as livestock, after the tank has cycled?
Well...

For now my selected species are:
Valenciana
Salarias
P. hepatus
Z. desjardinii
C. collare
C. triangulus
C. loriculus
Chromis viridis
Anthias
Labroides dimiatus

For clowns I haven't decided yet if I stick to the normal ocellaris, or choose a pair of premnas.

For inverts, I am considering some Lysmatas (debelius and amboinensis) and maybe some Coral banded shrimp.

For corals, I don't want nothing hard, so, I am considering Discosomas, Ricordias, sinularias, sarcophytos, Xenias, and some Discus like corals, that I do not remember the name. They are very colourful.

All i have to say is that things are doing pretty well.
The corals are open, and show no signs of distress. Even the shrimps are doi g ok.

Yeah you can call me stupid.

Do you have a picture?
Are the corals turning brown or is there a brown dust on the sand?
brown diatoms are normal in a new tank and will go away.
What are your water parameters?

So, my tank keeps giving me the hard time.
Remember to not want to do things in a hurry.

So I have put it in complete dark for about 2 days and reduced the photoperiod quite a bit.
I believe things are getting a little bit better.
Reduced the amount of food and just feed the anemone directly with raw unfrozen shrimp. Fed the guys one also.

I believe the liquid of the frozen mysis is also contibuiting for the algae growth, so I will start rinsing it befores feeding the fishes and feed them with a pipette.
Fish and corals keep doing great.
