Trying to get everything in order so I can start doing Mushroom Corals soon.

My parameters today:
PH: ~8.2
Alkanality: 3.6
Nitrate: 0
Ammonia: 0 - (excited about this, I thought there would be some in there :))
Nitrite: .1 ppm

I fill like everything is good but the Alkalinity. Do you agree? If not what else should I be concerned with?

What is the best way to reduce the Alkalinity?

Alk should be 8-12dkh

If you have nitrite you are still cycling, along with ammonia they should always be 0.

You will want to test calcium and magnesium for corals.

Get that Alk up a bit, it will buffer your PH. Having Alk that low can cause the PH to drop, a lot and quickly.

First get Alk up then bring up MG to 1230-1350 then get CA to 400-450.
MG buffers CA and makes it soluble so corals can use it.

I'm assuming he's using mEq/L instead of dKH as his alkalinity level. In which case, his alk is a bit on the high side but I wouldn't chase it at that level.
