My AWT Test Results on a Sample of Seachem Reef Salt

I recently sent in a sample to AWT to see the numbers they'd get on Seachem Reef Salt, and to also compare them with with their previously published numbers in their 'salt test'. To make this sample I used 0 TDS RO/DI water that ran through 3 stages of non color changing semiconductor grade DI resin and the sample was mixed to exactly 1.0264 and heavily aerated for 5 hrs. I also used a fresh vacuum sealed bag of Seachem Reef Salt and the bag was shaken up very well for about 5 min. prior to making the 5g. sample.

Here are AWT's results:

Ammonia (NH3-4) ...........Good ................. 0.010
Nitrite (NO2).....................Good ................. 0.002
Nitrate (NO3)....................Good ..................0.5
Phosphate (PO4) .............Good ................. 0.01
Silica (SiO2-3) ...................Good .................0.3
Potassium (K) ...................Good .................421
Calcium (Ca)......................Good .................381
Boron (B) ..........................High...................12.7
Molybdenum (Mo)............. High....................0.3
Strontium (Sr) ...................Good ..................9.3
Magnesium (Mg) ...............Good .................1188
Iodine (I¯).........................Good ................. 0.05
Copper (Cu++) .................Good ..................0.01
Alkalinity (meq/L)...............Good ..................3.56

I'm fairly sure their calcium and magnesium results are about 20% low as I get 460 PPM on cal. on both my API and Seachem test kits, and I usually get around 1350 -1400 PPM on mag when I test a fresh batch. They've previously stated that their calcium results may be low.

Nice Howard! Thanks for posting this. Do you have the link to the place you sent it too? I am interested in sending a few samples.
