Jade plant?

My mother has had this plant around the house for as long as I can remember. (~35 years) Can I just cut off a branch and plant it in a pot like that? A frag so to say? Thank you.

That's how we did it when I was growing up and it worked great.

Google tells me they have a more complicated recommendation these days, but I'd just do it the old fashion way.

I do that to all kinds of plants. Tearing it off is better then a clean cut. Keep it moist until it grows roots. Not soggy, but moist. This will allow the plant to survive until it grows a root system.

Dude, My Jade Plants grow like crazy!! I trim them and replant the trimmings. I only have enough room on my sill.
