inverts negative impact?

What impact do inverts have on an aquarium? do they produce ammonia or cause other water conditions change? What about feather dusters?

for the most part they have a positive impact.

the big issues with inverts are when they start eating the wrong stuff. like your fish/other inverts/corals.

inverts usually scavenge leftovers so they actually "soften" the bioload, by incorporating some of that into their growth they reduce waste and use a lot less O2 than vertebrates on a pound for pound basis.

I personally consider most inverts "Bio-neutral". I don't factor them into my bio-load one way or the other.
