I agree that it is generally more expensive than your average freshwater tank, and that it's SUPER addictive. I still keep a few freshwater tanks at the moment. I'm considering turning my freshwater Oscar tank into a FOWLR tank so I can keep a couple of predatory fish like a Dwarf Lion, maybe a Snowflake Eel and a Fiji Puffer. I can't stop buying corals for my current reef tank and I too am already thinking about a bigger tank. I want a 300 Gal.
