need to know what size overflow box do i need for my tank and what size plumbing?

Before you get into this, you first need to figure out what your trying to do with the tank and what you plan to keep in it. You have a lot of possible options, but until you get this figured out, it's almost a waste of time to talk about products.

These factors will drive all other equipment purchases. The setup will be a bit different if you want soft corals verses SPS corals, or small fish verses large predator fish.

Even such things as overflows can be done different ways, depending what you want out of the system. For example, drilling the tank and installing internal overflows is often least expensive, but even there you might want one designed for being silent. If you don't want to drill the tank, you'll need a hang on tank overflow. Those have a different set of issues. This is just one small area.

Lastly, keep in mind that what is best for one system may or may not be the best option for yours. Often there is no one correct answer.

Great advice from Dave as always.

Chris - like Dave stated, think about what you want out of the tank and post those ideas here. This will give everyone a chance to help once they can see your vision.
