except when hair algae is gone, sea hair will die. and they eat FAST.
They are fine for larger systems, but in a 30g, there wont be enough HA to sustain it.

I have a hair algae problem now also. It's as thick as the front lawn. What can I do?
I have 2 balls of chaeto, one in tank and other in refugium. I have two large red legs and 2 turbos. I have ran phosguard but nothing. I only have clown fish and yellow goby 2 peppermints

Are u overfeeding? Do u use rodi water?

what are your trAtes and Phos levels? Also as Matt said what is your source water and what is it testing on a TDS? If not at 0 you need to figure out which filters you need to change.
