Feather duster question

No, it won't hurt the duster. You can carefully scrape it off when you figure out what it is.

Another thought I've had, because of the quick growth, it could be a White Branching Sponge. (They come in many colors.)

I dont know if its bad for the feather or not but it is pretty cool looking. A nice little mystery.

If you eventually want to scrape it off the feather duster, don't take the feather duster out of the water, you don't want to get any air bubbles in the feather dusters tube. http://www.saltcorner.com/Articles/Showarticle.php?articleID=53
