dKH too high?

Hey Gang,

I just tested my water an everything looked great except for the dKH.

Ph was 8.2
Calcium was 450
0 trites, trates, and ammonia

but...the dKH was 14. Is this too high?

What would cause this and how can I fix it (if needed?)

Thanks!

Rob

Yes, 14 is above the recommended levels, you need to target around 8 - 9, calcium and PH are ok.

You can do water changes until this level drops down, try doing a 10% water change and re measure, do this each 24 hours or 48 so the changes are not very dramatic in the tank.

* is it too high? or not balanced, How did it get that high? if its the salt and you do water changes it will get higher. PH may in fact be low, C02 in the water?
Mag levels not correct?
Situation needs more information
