np at all..imo the only discus i would concider fighting with the ph would be for wild caught discus, tank raised discus are fine in hard water..my ph was at 7.6 and had mated pairs that would breed constantly..if u wanted to breed u could always take the mated pair and keep them in a smaller tank with peatmoss filtered water to drop the ph but like i said the key is stability so what ever ur ph is keep it there and u will be golden
