thanks everyone! Ok im really confused last night I was playing with my scape alot because I felt I did not have enough room for my corals. After a while I finally settled on something that im sure I will change again, lol. The tank was cloudy and I'm sure my fish were a little bit stressed out, but they seemed to be doing ok. This morning when I looked in the tank the only thing left of my fire fish was skin!!!!!!!! I have no idea what happend be he has been completely cleaned out. Im guessing he just died of stress and the cleanup crew did the rest? anyone have any ideas??? I did get him for a really good price from my lfs because he was in bad shape, but I kept him in my QT and nursed him back to health, he was eating fine and regained all his color. when I inroduced him into the Max but im guessing the stress of all the moving around killed him? Thanks for any imput and thanks for following. I am going to post more pictures tonight of the scape

Sorry you lost your beautiful firefish

- this is a pretty good guess... ^

anytime I see anyone lose a fish, it always a good idea to run a series of test though & do an extra water change... plus make sure your running fresh carbon (or cpe).

thanks glenn. will do. I know the cpe is brand new, but I will test the water tonight. and do another small water change I actually did about a 10% water change after I finished aquascaping last night. I did however remove my seed live rock because my ammonia was at 0 ppm, Im wondering if removing it caused a amomonia spike? I will check when I get off work. I assumed that it would be ok to remove the piece since my cycle had finished and I have alot of pods on the glass and all over the dry rock. But I will check my paramaters when I get off work

well the water parameters turned out great. Everything was stable except for a do have about .5ppm of nitrate. I guessing a small water change will take care of that. so the little fire fish must have died to to stress. My skimmer is starting to work great now, so i guessing its finally breaking in. and there seem to be significantly less mirobubbles in the tank! My clown are all ready exhibiting mating like behavior too. I still want to change my scape a little bit more so i can put my sps in the top of the tank..

ok guys quick update... The tank is doing great and looks great! I am starting to get a little bit of hair algae on some of the rocks. I dont think its thriving just kind of covering the rocks. I think it is pretty normal for a new tank, this being said what are some of everyones favorite hair algae eaters I can put in the tank??? I only have a few snails so im planning on adding to the cuc a little bit? I'm thining maybe a unchin but im all ears to other ideas. thanks guys, will post more pictures soon

I love snails for cuc & they will wipe it out as the tank matures - urchin in many cases end up starving... I like a variety if snails

Mine keep my tank 99.5% algae free... around one per gallon is what I like

Asterea, Trochus, Cerith, Nerites,Margarita & Nassariu

You can start off a new tank 1/2 this many, than add more in a month or two.
