Calcium levels and RO water?

Hi

My RSM130D has been up and running for 4 days now with LR and Red Sea Reef Base from the Red Sea Max starter kit and Red Sea Coral Pro Salt.
I have only used RO water and the LR came from another mature tank.

When testing the Calcium level with the tester set from the starter kit, the test instantly shows the end colour without having added any of the last reagent at all.
Does this indicate a very low calcium level?

What should I do?

Have you repeated the test? Sure you added the correct reagents and the right amounts? Which test kit? If it repeats I'd be suspicious that the reagents have expired or the test kit has a bad batch of reagents.

What are you using to check the salinity, you need to make sure the sg / salinity is aroung 1.026 SG 35ppt salinity. To test for salinity and this is the best method you need a refractometer, and IMO these are an essential piece of kit. If that is low the calcium will also be low
