OK, what's the deal with black silicone seams on glass tanks? Does this give some sort of benefit?

very true...
Ive let about 1/8-1/4 of corraline build up about the seams... for 2 reasons

A. it gives my a good buffer so when im drunk and cleaning i dont nick the seal.
B. it protect the silicone from other objects (like me)

lol
but black would be cool

OK, Cool. I was looking at the Oceanic tanks and they're coming with black silicone, and glasscages offers it as an option.

Several Manufactures actually do. I know the builder who does alll by tanks will only use black. They actually pride themselves on it
