Some Asterina Stars are algae eaters, some are Coralline Algae eaters. Some may nibble on a coral. There are many different kinds. The all white ones are known to be harmless algae eaters. They reproduce like rabbits on steroids, so they can become very numerous. I've had a lot at different times and they've never been a problem.
